Greetings all
I just picked up one of these engines and was curious if anybody had any info comparing this engines output to current market engines. The engine was on a pretty good older airframe which I am going to fly, but I was considering a swap for a newer engine. Would a 46fx provide similar hp but at a much lighter weight?? Any thoughts from people familiar with this engine would be helpful.

The OS Blackhead (and earlier goldhead) is a user-friendly well behaved engine, with ball bearings and a ring. It will not have the higher rpm and power levels of the current scheurle engines, but that does not make it totally undesirable.
With the larger displacement, it will provide more useable thrust than a .46. The .46 would pull a light airplane faster however.
