I am concerned with condensation causing corrosion on the engine and subsequently the rust debris would wear the piston ring.
- Is Hobbico After Run oil a good choice ?
I happen to have a bottle of Mobil One OW-40 engine oil that I use on my car ?
Would it be feasible to use it to coat my plane engine ?
- How to prevent the glow plug from being corroded ?
I got those silicon carb caps from Great Planes, and would it help to cap it on the glow plugs ?
Is it necessary to remove the glow plugs from the engine between flights ?
- External surfaces of the engine subjected to corrosion ?
The heat-fins on the crankcase, can I coat it with a thin layer of oil to prevent corrosion ? Can I spray anti-corrosion agent on the external parts of the engine, would I cause any damage such as reducing the effectiveness of the heat fins to dissipate heat ?
Any suggestions appreciated.

- Use ATF.
- Can't hurt, but I don't think they are needed.
- Not to me. People do this to add a little oil after a flight.
- The exterior will not corrode. They are made of aluminum. Al does not corrode very quickly. Keep it in the house and you will be fine.
- This will just cause a mess with dust and dirt, and will need to be cleaned off before flying again.
If you want to store it for long term(over 1 year), dunk the entire engine in a can of ATF. You might want to take any parts off of it first that are not metallic, like the carb. It should be fine, but...
