Default MPI Spinner Question

I am currently assembling a H9 UltraStick 40 with an OS46FX. I thought it would look cool to put a 2 1/2-inch MPI aluminum spinner on with a black prop. I picked up the spinner but it is threaded! When I screwed it to the OS 46FX it only went down so far (where the threads end) and left a gap between engine and the spinner. I would think that this is a bad thing! The question is, do I try and pop out the brass threads on the MPI spinner so it will sit against the engine or do I get a washer to fill the gap? Sorry if this is a newbe question, but I this one looked a little weird!

Thanks,
Steve

Default MPI Spinner Question

No, I know it is a spinner!!! The back plate that goes behind the prop is actually threaded!!

It is one of these:
