Default GMS Engines

Has anyone run the 1.20 GMS engine and were you satisfied with it's performance? I'm looking to put 4 1.08 - 1.50 2 or 4 strokes in a project and would like to get some feed back on some of the other engines that I have no experience with.

Default RE: GMS Engines

I have two of the GMS 1.20's and like them very much. They each turn a APC 17-6 at 9000 RPM for flying and about 14 Lbs. static thrust on 5% fuel. They both start easy and I have never had a flame-out with either one. If you pick up a brand new one and turn it over by hand you will probably think it is a piece of junk because it has absolutely no compression when turned over slowly. This is due to the Dykes ring which relys on combustion pressure for sealing. After a few runs this will improve but it will never feel like an ABC when turning it over by hand. All in all I don't think you can beat them for the money.
