Default Saito 56 vs YS 63 opinions please.

I have been reading all about the new Seduction Free Style kits that people are going nuts over. Everyone seems to be putting the YS 63 on them. I have a Saito 56 that is still in the box. Is there any reason to think that this Saito will not perform well enough on the Seduction at around 4.5lbs? I'm a 2c person at heart, so 4c engines are still a bit of a quandrie for me.

Your opinions mean a lot. Thanks for your input.

I have a Saito 56 on a 4lb, 14oz (with engine) Advance 40, and its performance is superb. The YS will have more power, but my preference is the Saito .56.

What level of performance are you looking for? There is no comparison in power between the two, the Satio 72 is closer but is still not at the level of the 63.

MY YS 63 will pull a 14x4 zinger at 10,800peak and fly it at 10,000-10,200. See if a Saito 56 can do that. I know your not trying to compair, your just seeing if your motor will work. To my knowlege the Seduction is a very light kit anyway. It would be even harder to lighten it up even more. The kit already calls for miniservos, and most people use transparent covering to save some weight as well.

The saito 56 is a great 50 size 4stroke It is light and powerful. IMO the Saito 56 is similar to a good 40-46size 2 stroke. But the Seduction is mainly built for 3d and not so exact pattern. As we all know w/ 3d. YOu need the most about of power w/ the least about of weight. That is where the YS 63 come in. Yes it is heavier than a Saito .72 by almost 2oz. But it puts out much more power than a .72. Also from what I read in Japan, and other countries over there. The 4stroke of choice is YS. Where here in the U.S. is a differant story.

The YS 63 IMO has the most power in it's class. The YS 53 would be real close in power to a Saito .72 The YS 63 is real close, even, or better than a Saito .91 depending on who you talk to. And the Saito .91 has almost a 1/3 more displacement.

I say try your .56 and you might be absolutely happy. If your not drop about $240 on a YS 63 and you will smile from ear to ear.. The YS 63 is a great motor.

I probably didn't answer your question, but I hope I helped you w/ something. I don't know what. But I hoped I helped.

Zinger makes a 14x4 wooden prop around $5.00

APC makes a 14x4W (wide blade) for fun-flys around $12

I have the 14x4 zinger my my ys63 ona top cap arf. Performance is awesome. I have never flown a APC 14x4 I get great performance from the zinger for less then 1/2 price.

Use your saito and if it's not enough buy an irvine 53, or a webra 50 for half the cost of a YS 63. either would be plenty of motor for a 4.5 lb airplane 3d and all

Stick with the YS . It is tops in power and NONE of the others have the transition ,idle or midrange of the 63. You will be able to swing larger props at far more EFFICIENT speeds than the two strokes. You will also save the weight and BULK of the huge 2 stroke mufflers. You will also not require the larger fuel tanks/fuel load the two strokes call for.

You will save more than enough in fuel costs to make up the difference between a Irvine and the YS and a whole lot more !!!

I think by your original post you had it narrowed down to YS 63 or Saito 56 anyhow. . I have both ,and the YS is far and away the better of the two.
