I was given a weadeater with no cutting shaft on it recently. I am thinking about using it on a Dynaflite Decathlon I hope to build in the future. I am not sure if the engine is large enough though. The outside green casing contains no info concerning engine size but it does have the number 1400 on the side. I'm not sure if that means anything as far as the series of engines it was manufactured in. The engine itself is mounted upside down in the casing and all of its component(muffler, carb, etc...) are allmounted in a vertical line: nothing sticking out on the sides. The recoil start assenmbly and the flywheel are mounted at the back of the engine. The carb is mounted on the bottom of the crankcase and, the muffler is mounted on the front of the cylinder and blows the exhaust along the cutting shaft when trimming a yard. The cylinder is attached to the crankcase by two Allen headed bolts on two of the corners. I'm hoping that somebody who reads this will have a manual for this particular weedwacker and will tell me what size this engine is, and I'm also asking for suggestions on how to mount this one to the fire wall: that's something else that's got me puzzled too.
Thank's a lot. I would appreciate help.
