Prop problem :(
#1
Good evening folks.
I bought a few master airscrew props last night and today i got to balance them...Well, I actually did not get to balance them because the hole seems to be drilled off the center [:-]
At first,i reamed one and put it on my magnetic balancer...The blades have stoped horizontally,so i sanded the lowest point, which was a center part of the prop...Then i sanded off more,,,then a little more...but nothing helped..I was sanding prop till it was obviously oval-looking in the center...And still it didnot help.
Well, then i though that I possibly didnt ream it straight and thats why the hole not centered.
So i went and got me a new prop...Without reaming i put it on my balancer and ...the same story...One part of it alwayse heavier and goes down, but blades are alwayse stop horizontal. So then I though it could be a bent rod on balancer...So finally, out of all those props i bought last night i found one that had one blade heavier then the other and i was able to balance it..
What am I doing wrong here? What would you guys recommend? What brand of props is the best?

You're not doing anything wrong, you just got some bad props. It can happen with any brand of prop. I personally have had the same problem you are having with Master Airscrew and it's one reason I don't use them anymore. Instead, I use APC or Graupner Profi when I'm not flying a wood prop. OTOH, I've seen posts from others stating they rarely have problems with M.A. props yet they can never seem to get APC's to balance. You might want to try contacting M.A. directly and see if they aren't willing to try and make the deal good for you.
