Have a VQ 40- sized Spacewalker assembled.
Have 2 engines to choose from.
Need to know which is more powerful.
An allmost new Irvine 40 ringed engine or an OS 40 FP, also relatively new.
Would be mounted inverted with cowl and remote muffler.
Not looking for airshow aerobatics, just maybe a few loops and rolls.
Need steady medium performance.
Was looking to use a 10/6 3-blade Master Airscrew and spinner.
Any advice fellows?
thanx

Dennis:
They are both sport engines, but the Irvine is probably a bit more powerful, as it has the BB crank and somewhat higher quality than the OS.
But in either case ditch the 10x6 three bladed prop, go with a 9x6 MAS three blader. The OS 46 FX will spin the 10x6 3b, the 40 FP wont. You can try it on the Irvine, might do OK with the 10x6 but the 9x6 3b is guaranteed to work.
Bill.

Dennis,
I'm ashamed to admit it, but I haven't had a plane out to fly this year. Been playing with power boats.
And the big Tigercat is still waiting for its engines, Technopower is dragging its feet on making them. The Tiggerkitty is ready to go, as soon as I cycle the battery. Plenty of other planes, though.
