Carb Question
Hello,
I have a used magnum 40 engine with out a manual.I am trying to get it tuned and its really out of whack.
After reading some other threads here at rcu Im convident I get it running.
The question I have is about the 2 screws on the carb. When looking at the engine from the front, the needle valves on the right.
On the left of the carb there is a screw that is inline with the needle.(I asume this is the idle screw).
Behind that is a screw that come straight up.Im not sure what this adjusts.
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Scott

RE: Carb Question
The screw that comes straight up is an idle stop screw that sets the minimum position for the throttle to close. It sets the idle speed. Most folk adjust this screw so that the throttle closes completely then control the idle speed with the trim on the transmitter. This way you can shut the engine down by retarding the trim all the way.

RE: Carb Question
Hi!
I have also a magnum, my is a old Magnum GP .40, it has a very simple carburetor, no low-speed needle only an air-bleed screw that works the oppsite of a low-speed neele, that is if too lean mixture, screw it in (clockwise) to make the mixture richer and vice versa.
