Super Tiger Availability?

I 've just looked at the Tower web site and they still list the Super Tigers as being not available till late July and August. Yet Paul Landels at Just Engines is saying that he has Chinese Super Tiger G61ABC's and G90's in stock?
Is it possible that Great Planes is filling back orders first before they proclaim to have inventory on hand?

Maybe GP doesn't "own" Super Tigre ,just the US distributorship.
I am thankful Mr Yamada is particular about WHOM is getting exclusive distributorship!
I would hate to see YS prices skyrocket as fast as Super Tigre and OS did !
Just my honest opinion !

W8,
Tower site will always show you when they are available if you order right now. We never want to do the "gee, yeah, you're right we said we'd get em friday and we did, but we already had all those sold so yours will be here in 3 months"...
Yes, some engines came in stock. In fact the G34H remains in stock at this time. And more engines are coming as time goes forward....I've had the pleasure of seeing MANY of these new engines run, and the performance has been EXCELLENT.

Hello Anne,
Thank you for the info.
While my comments above regarding ST were clearly speculative maybe you can set straight some of the rumors that have been circulating.
I think most folks are under the impression that GP has bought out ST lock stock and barrell. Can you tell us if GP owns the ols Super Tigre engine company or just the US/North American rights to distribution ? I think many of us are interested in some of the details .
My speculation was merely conjecture based on the reports of Super Tigre made in China engines surfacing abroad but not yet in the US.
Also are the 34H engines you now stock Italian made or new Chinese manufacture ?
Although I rarely build 2 stroke powered planes nowdays I will probably but a new Chinese Mfg ST just to put on the shelf with my collection of pre 1982 Super Tigres. Come to think of it a 34H might look good up there too . One of the last of the Italian Tigres.
I know you may not be able to tellus all you do know . Whatever light you are allowed to shed would be a lot more than we know at this point. It would give us some insight from a good source.
TIA
