Hey Buz; I have an older .40FP, I bought it from Tower Hobbies in the mid 80s. I put on a trainer and flew it hard until i smacked it into a tree stump after takeoff, destroyed the plane but the FP survived with minor damage. I stopped flying after that. I recently took the FP out of storage, cleaned it up and have been flying my GP 40 MK2 with it for the past several months with no problems. The FPs are great engines. Now that i've told my life story the, the needle valve should be opened about 3 turns and the air bleed screw( thats the one on the front of the carb) should be opened about 4 turns. This should get You started, then close the needle valve at full throtle until it peaks out then back it off about a 1/4 turn or until You hear the pitch drop. Then adjust the air bleed screw to get the idle You want. It should run well with a 10x6 prop. I hope this helps, have fun. BKF1970. p.s. what plane are You going to fly with Your FP?
