Horizons suggestions for saito 1.20
Hey everybody,
I just got a great deal on a used saito 1.20, I checked horizon hobbies site for recommendations of props and they recommend nothing bigger than a 14 inch prop. I think this is a little off b/c they have the same recommendations for the .72 saito. Now I am planning on flying this engine on an edge 540 in IMAC competition with no real hopes of hovering it with this motor b/c of the weight of the airplane. Can anybody tell me the optimal prop for this engine on this airplane. Maybe a 16-6?

Well, Horizon is wrong, I put the prop they recommended on the 1.20 and flew today. The motor screamed but the plane didnt move with ANY athority (it looked like a sig senior). I opted for a 16 - 6 and it toted it around IMAC style.

I agree, the Horizon Hobby site is wrong on their specifcation page where it says up to a 14x8.
But cllick on the "Support" tab and download the manual for the Saito 120. In the manual it shows
Sport: 14x10 15x8 15x10,16x6,16x8
Scale: 15x8 16x6 16x8 18x6
Aerobatics: 13.5x13.5 14x10N 14x12

Hope this helps you make a better decision.
