Default 2 engine recommendations :)

Hi.

I need a couple of suggestions regarding engines. Preferably ball barring.

I want a large engine (.65) or so, for a medium speed sport/stunt plane, and a smaller engine ( I guess) for a very fast plane...

What are 2 good engines (price vs quality).

A1programmer it all depends on your price range my friend.

Is that .65 or so going in a 60 sized aerobatice plance? Depending on your experience, you might want to venture into the 4 stroke arena with a saito 100 or ys110 (these engines will fly a 60 size plane with MUCH authority). Price - around $300 give or take some change. Or maybe a more moderately priced magnum 80 for somewhere in the $160's.

What size is the smaller FAST plane? I'm thinking that if you want to burn holes in the sky and your wallet, you should head over to www.jettengineering.com.

Hope this helps...
milage may vary with others...

Thanks trailingedge, I guess I'm pretty much a beginner... I just graduated college, and picked this up as a hobby... I think I have a major addiction coming on. I always wanted to fly RC planes, but never had the money in the past.

The .65 was for the aerobatics plane... I think the magnum 80 would be better for me at the moment...

Speed and aerobatics isn't a good combonation for me yet. lol But I do want a really fast one.

impactiq... thanks... I'll check out those irvine engines... They look nice from the pics I've seen, and reviews I read from a google search.

JUST WAIT!!!!!! Before you know it... you have more planes and engines then you can count (or do with)! No truer words were spoken.

been there done that a1. I like the stump pullin four strokes myself. There's something about watching my plane instantly accelerate vertically when I pull the nose up and hit the gas. There are lots of magnums running at my field and they're all pretty dogone nice running engines. I think you'll like that 80. Do yourself a favor when you get the money though. Go out and try one of the high end engines like ys or saito (yeah I'm a ys fanatic).

Check out the Super tigre prices on the tower site. The G90 is a .60 size case and would give you much more power.
For speed on a .40 size platform try a K&B .40 model 4050 (ABC-Tuned pipe), or a rossi .40, or if you have the funds a Jett .40
If you are looking in the .46-.50 size try the K&B .48, Webra 50GT, or at the same weight a K&B .61 twist which is less expensive than either but will out run both if given enough pitch.

My addiction started later...over 140 planes and over 140 engines to date.

Start with two strokes, the advantage of four strokes is subjective, some prefer two strokes. They cost less and you will have less lost in a crash. I would try a .75 Tower or .74 Fox for the larger engine. I have no idea how small you want the smaller engine. .15, .46?

Tower Hobbies .75. The best $100.00 you'll ever spend!
