Hi,

Some people have tried boring out the carb with a drill, but the carb barrel is bade fom really hard steel, and unless you have good drill bits, you will find it quite hard. Also you can try getting rid of the low speed needle out of the carb if you dont want an idle to allow more air through the carb.

Try increasing the nitro percentage in your fuel. Also switch to a slightly colder plug or increase the number of head shims when you add more nitro as to avoid detonation.

There are ways to alter the exaust and boost port timings, but I dont have the knoweldge here to help you. You risk stuffing your engine up, and really need to know what you are doing.

Rodney,

The most cost effective method, for getting 400-1,000 extra RPM (depending on the prop), is by exchanging the muffler to a Tower/Hobbico .46 unit.

This addition will appear over the 'baffle removed' numbers and will be larger if the baffle is still in the original 783 muffler.

Other changes will be much more expensive and you would probably better off just buying an MVVS .49, an Irvine .53, a Rossi .45 and for High $ mods, a Jett.

I have found that the Performance Specialties Tuned Muffler gives the engine a significant increase in power. They cost around $60. Or the regular long tuned pipe. The "Macs" does not do a thing

Hi!
Or ...get a MVVS minipipe for it (No 3246).
You have to make a youre own adapter to make the pipe fit (I used 8mm aluminium plate).
An APC 9x6 or 9x7 prop will turn at around 16000-16500 rpm on 5% nitro.
You will see much more power than with an ordinary 10x6 prop!
