I am just about finished building my new H-9 Twist. One of the engines that they recomend for this plane is the Evolution 46 NT.
does anyone know much about this engine ?, and what is the difference between the 46NT and the trainer system .45 ?
Will either of these engines have enough power to Hover my Twist ?

I tested a Twist for my magazine with both an Evo .46 and an OS .46AX. I liked the APC 12-4 prop with either one. Plenty of vertical and hover power. The plane now has an old Tower .46 in it with a 12-25-3.75 APC. Flies the same. Bottom line, any of the .46s will easily fly the plane.
It is a great little airplane. It will fly faster than most fun fly planes without flutter and it will do 3D. It really inverted flat spins. You'll love the blenders and waterfalls or forward flips.
Even though the Evo has been run, it still needs a good bit of time to be fully broken in. For both engines, OS & Evo, I figured a gallon of fuel for them to reach peak.
Another thing, it was tail heavy with all the .46s and needed a brass heavy hub for balance. You might try Hitech 225 mg servos or I like the Hitech 5245 mini digitals that are the same size as the 225s. These weigh an ounce compared to nearly 2 ounces so with these you might not need the heavy hub. I ran standard JR servos for the test.

I have a 4 star 40 with the evo trainer motor on it. It has a TON of power!! flies great at 1/3 throttle. Has a SRTONG vertical pull. It will hover and pull away hard. I couldnt believe how much power it has.

We have one guy in our club with the Evo trainer engine and it's a great running motor.
Trust me....it would have to be in order to survive a day with this fella!
Against all odds, it runs and runs and runs!!!
On the other hand...I've yet to see the .46 whatever it is run without some sort of malady, and
this covers several of the motors which have made brief cameo appearances at the field...never
to be seen again.
Meanhile...the tortured .45 trainer motor keeps running.

Hey bud I have a twist with a OS .50sx. Great motor but I would of rather had the new saito .82 4 stroke. The 50 pulls pretty hard but I am new to 3D stuff and I would like a little more power. It does hover and pulls out but not very hard at all. I am getting REAL good at "flying" out of bad situations because the throttle doesn't always "catch" me when I screw up. I think you will have a great flying plane with the .46 but it sure isn't the best choice "for 3D".
