I would like to build (not buy) an engine test stand suitable for .26 to 1.8 size glow engines. I would like it to be easily adjustable to fit any or all of the engines, etc.

Does anyone know where a plan for a stand like this can be found?

I can't see why a plan would be needed. Attached picture shows my 40+ year old E_Z Just stand with a Saito FA-30, and a FA-150 mounted on it. The left pedestal slides sideways to accommodate anything down to an 0.049 engine, anything with beam mounts. Granted, I wont run a 140 at full throttle on it, but it's fine for a 4000 rpm break in run. The bottom left picture shows the metal pegs that fit into the lug holes to secure the engine.

Bottom right shows a later commercial stand, construction should be obvious. I've had 38ccm engines at full power on it.

Yup -- Been using the same stand as Bill for 30 + years and I've run engines from .049 to .75. Don't know that I'd go above the .75 at WOT though.

OK, I kinda get the idea. But, a couple questions please:

What material is the stand made of. I can't make it out from the photos

I don't understand the "peg" from the pict, is this on your older stand or the newer, manufac tured one?

Here's another composite of the E-Z Just. You can see the notch in the base to prevent the pedestal's rotation, another has red arrows pointing to the pegs. Also there is a shot of the wood grain. someone else can tell you what the wood is. I thought probably birch, but to me the grain looks more like oak.
