O.S. .70 Surpass II ?
I have this engine mounted in my GP Cap. It runs great in the vertical and upright positions. Whenever I invert the model or pull negative G's THe engine RPM starts to decrease. Upon righting the airplane the RPM's jump back up. This tendancy seems to get lower as the fuel is consumed. This leads me to believe that the tank location is the problem. If the tank is low, and it is, will this cause it to flood the engine when the plane is inverted? Additionally, in Knife Edge flight the motor boggs down only when it is KE to the right (Motor hanging down, side mounted to the right). Is there a pump or a regulator that I should get to fix this? Or should I just lean it out some more? Change the tank location?
I also was thinkin that it could be caused by excessive exhaust building up inside the muffler (Ie. the oil exhaust). The exhaust is pointed up in inverted and KE to the right situations. When the muffler is pointed back down it is able to blow the excess out. Just another thought? This is what caused me to think of leaning it out more.
Thanks in advance, Phil (Mesa, AZ)
