Both engines are bushed sport engines and have about the same power. If you want power try the webra 25.

Or the OS .25 FX, it has some more power, and has ball bearings

Quality of the FP is higher and puts out a little more power. No plastic parts. I have one I bought in the late 60s in a Pizza box. Flown regularly, Strong as ever.

If those are your only two choices, go for the FP. There are other (& better) choices out there.

fp is a better engine. Get an older one with the needle in the carb where it belongs and you will be way better off.

And don't forget the Thunder Tiger 25GP -- it's an FP clone at a very reasonable price.

I have two O.S. 25 FP's and they are both sweet running engines. theyhave many hours running time on Sig 10% Sport fuel, are easy starting and have a great idle. They ar in a Florio Flyer NiftyFifty and a DeBolt Livewire Champ with nore hours than I can remember..There may be more powerful 25's out there but I t's hard to beat the no hassle of O.S.

I have three 25 fp's and a 25 sr. The fp's are like toyotas. Not a lot of power but run and run and run forever. Paul

Another vote for the TT 25 GP. Can't go wrong with that engine. I also loved the old FP's and won't buy another LA.

Not all Toyota's are slow! My Tundra is snappy, and 1997 Twin Turbo Supra's are quite quick! and I don't think they make a Lexus that could be accurately described as slow.

The OS 25FP was my first engine 20 years ago and I still have it today. Runs great and no ball bearings to rust out. LA's are junk that seem to wear quickly and get a 'tack-tack-tack' sound after the first prop strike.

btw - my opinion on 25FX - a TT GP-42 is about the same weight and has more power and costs less. Shop engines by power-to-weight ratio, not power to size (displacement) unless your in competition.

my $0.02

Hi!
Don't believe anyone saying OS LA engines are bad..they are not!!! There is only inexperienced users!
I have several of these and they are very reliable and produce good power, not perhaps as much power as a ballbearinged engine but very near. The good thing with these LA engines is their lightness and very reliable throttle response. I have two of these LA .15 in my Kyosho PBY Catalina swinging 8x5 APC props and it is totally reliable and has been so for the last 5 years.
I run these on 15% Motul "Micro" all synthetic oil, 5% nitro and 80% methanol
The Aircombat gang over here in Sweden also seem to like the OS LA .15 engines as these are widely used by many competitors.
Regards!
