Hey,fellas..I got a os max60 glow engine, rear carb and a baffle for a muffler and I need to know what I have, the app.age, price and use..
I`m having trouble finding information on it..I put this on the engine board and haven`t got a answer after two days..
Anybody heard of this engine,I got it off a old man who said he thought it was old..that was all he knew about it..
many thanks,nimitz

If you go to http://www.osengines.com/history/ostimeline04.html you'll find two photos of the H60, one first made in '66 and the other in '68 but it seems they've used the same photo for both engines so I have no idea what difference there is. I've got the '67 Max H80 version with the twin plugs and it's a very nice engine. Mine was new when bought at a club auction so it was run in very rich for about an hour because of the rings. It starts and runs extremely well on zero nitro fuel so I can't see why the H60 would be any different. The exhaust baffle isn't needed, just take it off and fit a muffler.

As Downunder has stated, these engines were made in two versions , pre 1968 and post 1968. The main differences are as follows.
Pre 1968--1. Conrod bushed on lower end only. 2. Piston has 2 rings, curved baffle, no piston pin bushings. Cylinder head finished in plain aluminum with 12 cooling fins.
Post 1968--1. Conrod bushed at both ends. 2. Piston has 1 ring, straight baffle, piston pin bushings. Cylinder head re-designed and given a gold anodised finish with 13 fins. There was a considerable power increase due to the re-designed head.
These engines were quite popular with scale builders as carburetors could be rotated for downdraft induction when engine was inverted. They run great on no nitro or 5% fuel and will last forever given proper maintenance.

Hey,Waco ..Tnx for the information. It is a post 68,I think..It has one ring and a gold head..
I`ll probably sell it if I get enough out of it..Any idea what something like that is worth..I`ve only been in rc for three years so likely I paid too much for it..I got it on a trade..
many tnx,nimitz
