Evo 61 engine issues...

Any one else have an Evolution 61 engine? I thought it would be good but there is something wrong. I can't get more than a few minutes flight out of it before it starts to falter. It seems to be leaning out. I kept adjusting it rich until I get a full flight out of it without it stumbling. Problem is at this setting I am only getting around 10K on an APC 12-6 prop when its upposed to be 12k. OF course this means that I don't have much power. I tried a Tower Hobbies 75 on the same plane to see if there is a problem with the fuel tank setup but it adjusts easy with tons of power! Any ideas appreciated!!!!

I don't have any explination other than the engine is a great runner.
Have another set of eyes check your fuel lines. My .61NT ran
2250 idle and 11k+ top-end without so much as a needle tweak.
I run a 12x6 APC, Wildcat 15% in a Vector Flight 60" Sukhoi.
Flys it super.
Have you changed the factory needle settings?

I notice that you say you are getting 11K+ with 15% on a 12-6 APC prop. The ads all say that the engine is supposed to turn 12k with that prop. I am using 10% Sport fuel annd I am getting about 11.3 to 11.5 k whcih isn't bad but not quite as advertised. I did change the low needle setting. With the throttle at idle setting the engine was spitting fuel out of the top of the carb and revving quite high. When I opened the throttle the engine would instantly flood and die. I had to close it down in order to get it to run half decent. I have 3 other planes that need sorting out right now and I will get back to it later and try again. [>:]
