That's how a video should be done, fantastic!
My favorite part is when the camera drops low and you taxi away from the pits, I see what you mean about the reference to Honda CB.
Thanks also for the second link to the video.

Glad you like the video! Yes, that is what I meant that the sound of a FF320 is not like a sewing machine.... not at all. It such a fun to play with the throttle!
Chasrb, thanks for the link about Martin Spuetz. I have seen this plane in some RC Magazine here maybe one year ago. Koeln is about 1 hour from here, I do not know Martin. Maybe you have noticed in the beginning of the video (in the background) that my friend Armin has a very nice PT-17 Stearman. It has also a Seidel radial engine, but 5cyl 125cc and I think around 110" wingspan. This plane is about 45lbs flying weight and is terrific scale.
...big boys toys...

Speed-panzer the second link to the video really has great audio compared to the RCU link. Wow. I can't wait to fire my 320 up now. All I need is to get the glow harness.
Thanks again for the video!

What video? I've been there several times and cannot find a video link. Lots of still photos, but no video.

The video link that was mentioned after I posted this was for speed-panzer and his wonderful flying machine...not the one fromme, however, there is one for Spuetz' plane. I 'll locate it.

Thanks for the hint...
yes, this link does not work and the other one which I posted first is as well non-functioning.
I wll clarify. On the other hand: How fast is your email connection? Can it accept 17MB?

If it's 200MB or less you can upload it to www.Putfile.com and if 100MB or less to www.Youtube.com

Kmot,
what have we learned - the sound quality is poor on those open platforms, they seem to reduce audio quality besides the viewing quality, too.
I am working that the other link to a german flight homepage will be activated again and let you know about it

Ok,
after several tries the old locations for the video were not available anymore. I put it on youtube now, and to my surprise the audio quality is quite good.

Thanks for reposting the video. At idle, it sounds like a single cylinder four-stroke. But, when revved up, it sounds like a Porsche engine that a senior NCO at my first duty station in the USAF had in his Beetle. Heavenly!
What size prop are you using? How much nitro in the fuel? Thanks.

Hello guys,
please check my posts #32 and #38 in this forum for the airplane!
Prop is 20x10 Menz, which is far better doing than the 20x10 Zinger I used first. The Zinger prop was spun about 7.000rpm, the Menz will do a little less but performs much better in flight.
Fuel has 15% fully synthetic oil and 8% Nitro. The engine needs the Nitro to run so well as it does.

Just got to say Oh My God.. What a incredible sound from a model engine.. Wild....
I`m building a Sist FW190A8, 1:5 scale.. And has been looking for a power plant.. I have been considering a ASP-400 and a Seidel radial engine..
But the sound from this engine really got me thinking... ;-) Maybe this is the optimal power plant for my FW, I know it has the power and now that I have heard the
"music" it makes... Hmm options-options... Got to borrow this engine from my LHS and look if it will fit....
THANKS for posting this...
Best regards
Sandman

Hei Sandman,
thank you for nice comment. Yes, I love the sound, too....
FW 190 A8 1:5 scale: I would say biggest concern is the power-to-weight ratio. As you chose the A8-version, you could take advantage of a little more heavy engine.
If you need a little less weight and about same power, you could consider the O.S. FT300 - very nice engine, much less service work needed as with a real radial. This engine can also be flown fast and tolerates higher rpm as any radials will do.
A close friend has a Seidel 5 cylinder 125cc in a 23kg Stearman, this combo does very well together. The Seidel runs very well and has lots of power. I cannot tell about the smaller Seidel radials.

Speed-Panzer..
I have talked to Mr. Sist himself, Stephan that is. And he asures me that the Sediel 710/770 wil fly the FW-190 very nice. It will not be a speed-demon, but will be able to haul the bird around in a scale manner.. And that is precisely what I*m after, along with a fine engine note :-)
The OS-300 twin will not fit under the cowl, its to wide.. And I not going to use any engines with less cylinder than 4 :-)
I have tested the FF-320 and it will fit perfect under cowl, with the correct lenght.. So its a strong candidate for the FW..
So far my candidates are : Seidel 770, ASP/Magnum-400 and FF-320.. With the FF320 i still will be needing nose ballast..
Best regards..

Hey speed panzer, Is that superstar you have a "Skytech Aviation" Super star? Is it a fiberglass fuse? I have a new one in the box and wondering how it was to build? Thats of course if you built it. Thanks

maybe.... at least sewing machines do not smell the right way...
