Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help with this problem im having........... i have a OS46 FX in a FunFLy........... the engine runs great when its running but i seem to have problems starting it........... the problem is as follows...........
I first adjust the needle valve to 2.5 turns out......... then start the engine which is starts fine..... i then have to adjust the engine to get the right RPM's but this normally means closing it alot (about 1 turn from closed) to get the right running speed........ fly the plane engine runs fine..............
Land Refuel....... then start it but it just wont start unless i turn the needle valve back to 2.5 turns and adjust again...... so at the moment im having to do that EVERY time i want to fly this plane.......... all my other engines hardly need adjusting....... what am i dong wrong ? or whats set up wrong ??????????
Any help would be appreciated..... thx in advance..........

The only thought I have is to be sure you open the throttle, put your finger over the carb intake and draw fuel into the fuel line and carb with about three turns of the prop. Then close the throttle to your starting position (1/3 open ?), flip the prop a few times to distribute the fuel, hook up the glow driver and flip to start. If there's fuel in the engine, the start should be independent of the needle position. If the needle is set to lean, the engine should still start and run for a few seconds and then die. But it should start.

I have the same problem only in the cold weather. It is primed and throttle at 1/3 but just will not start. I also have to adjust it to 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 to get it to run. Than readjust the engine. Once it is started it runs great in the air. But bring it in and refuel and start the whole thing over. I just figured that the head is cooling off to fast. I was out flying today in the snow and the temperature was in the high 20's to low 30's. But when the weather warms up the problem goes away!
