Enya No. 3 plug

Hello; Last winter I ordered a whole card of Enya No,. 3 plugs for my Enya engines ( I had 4 of them then) as I used an Enya engine I'd put a new plug into it even if it didn't really need one. I noticed that they didn't run as well as before I put the new plug in it and started burning the plugs out much faster then in the past. Now those plugs cost me around $13 each and some of them didn't even give me one flight. I remember using old Enya No 3's in my old Saitos for years and years, but the last card I bought (a dozen) didn't hardly work at all.
Has anyone else noticed this? That is a huge chunk of money to waste.
Oh I should say that all the engines are/were four strokes.

I personally cannot comment on the Enya #3's because I only use OS F's. I would try an OS plug, compare tach. readings and try a lower nitro fuel. May be this link can shed some light?

The Enya #3 is a relatively hot plug. Its all I use in my two-stroke heli engines. I don't think it is suited for four strokes for two reasons:
It IS a "hot" plug, and it is a "short reach" plug. Compare it to the OS F (and now the YS clone of same) that is pretty much THE plug to use in four strokes; the F is longer than an Enya #3.
Again, this is my opinion formed from years of running all the mentioned items. I don't have any solid documentation to back it up.
Whatever the reason for the failures, I feel your pain; those puppies are very expensive.

Hi!
Yes. Enya 3 plugs should not be used in a fourstoke ...at least not at normal nitro rates (5-15%).
OS F is the plug to use.

The Enya #3 is the recommended plug for Enya four strokes. I have the best results #3s in my enyas.
Is it possible that you are using a higher nitro fuel, have deposits in the combustion chamber that increase the compression ratio, have an intake vacuum leak or are using WD40 as after run oil? These things will affect the longevity of your plugs. Have you readjusted the valves recently for wear, use armor all as a fuel additive or fuel with a rubber bulb? These also shorten plug life.
It sounds like a happy state then a progressively worse condition. It stands to reason that something is changing more and more over time. You then have to look for the thing that is effecting that change.
