Default Learning all the time

Knowledgelable members please advise.

In case you want to fly a model without attaching a muffler to the glow engine in it, What changes do you make and what effects does it have on the engine performance? While breaking in a new engine do you need to attach a muffler to it ?
Does any one have an internal diagram of a glow engine muffler?

I am more familiar with the diesel engines that is why I need to know.
thanks

you don't NEED a muffler on, but how long do you want to continue flying? unless you have your own 40+ acres, you will have neighbors complaining and shutting you down fairly quickly. flying without one is generally highly discouraged for this reason!

there generally isn't anything inside a glow muffler, just an empty can. some have a baffle near the back for a little better muffler pressure, but that is removable without much difference in most engines anyway.

Sajjad:

A two stroke engine usually wont idle well without the back pressure of the muffler.
