Default Flex header qustion

Just a quick question, does a fixed angle header have to be used before a flex pipe? or can the flex pipe be fitted straight in to the head on a magnum 70 fs, im thinking on using the OS parts
Thanks heaps Gregor

Gregor....

....the flex header takes the place of the regular header.

It is possible that the threaded end on the flex header could screw
into a female ended rigid head-pipe....but what would be the point ?

....back to ya'.

Greg:

Be sure to mount the end of the flex pipe (or the muffler itself) in something to keep it from vibrating. Unsupported it can crack in the bellows portion.

I have just spoken to my LHS and he says that the rigid header is to take the heat befor the flex pipe, he said that it could melt or be damaged by just fitting straight to the head! is he just trying to sell me more stuff .I also plan on having it well secured to the plane.
Thanks Gregor.

Greg:

Your LHS man could well be telling you what he really thinks is best.

The flex pipe wil go right up to the head and be OK, it will withstand the heat without a problem.
