Default Engine corrossion

I have just taken a look to one of my first engines, it is a 1977 Enya 15 IV, I used it very little and now I am playing with it, last saturday I disasembled it and found some corrosion spots in the crankshaft and crankcase, not very much for an engine of this age, but I will like to know if there is something I can do to reduce it.

Regards

Alfredo

Small spots of rust are not danger. Part who has contact with other parts to example surfaces as bearing, piston+cylinder etc shall be free for rust. Wash the engineparts clean in kerosene and lubricate parts before use.

I pickle my engines with auto transmission fluid and seal them in a big zip-lock bag for storage. This will prevent any air/moisture from
corroding machined surfaces and bearings. Ross
