Default Pulsejet engine

Has anyone builded a pulsejet engine lately? I have drawings to a Pulso1 about 90mm (3.5inch) engine. Im just interested of building a cheap jet engine with a lot of noise, power and huge fuel consumption. pirate:

Well if that's what you want from an engine then you're certainly going the right way about it!! Not to mention somewhat dangerous

Call Bruce Tharpe, he has an interesting video about pulse jets, mostly about flying them.

Default pulse jets

has anyone built a scale doodlebug* powered by one of these?

I seem to recall they were powered by a pulse jet and made a horrific din.

Default Noisy as he..

We have a control line field about 200 yards from our RC flying field (pits). The first time somebody started and ran one of these on a control line, it was so loud I could not even imagine what it was, and that was being 200 yards away from the thing. I can't even imagine standing right next to it, starting it up. When it fires, I'm sure I would need a change of briefs he he. These engines are probably one of the best examples of inefficiency. I think they burn something close to 1 oz per second, and only develop about 6 - 8 lbs of thrust, and oh yeah, did I mention, they are louder than anything else I've heard.

Jep thats true, they use a huge amount of fuel in a very short time(about 67oz/3minute) but having all the equipments for making one...why not!!
