does this engine really weigh 26.75 oz as listed on their website? I can't beleive that , they list the .91 four stroke as a bit lighter than that. I was considering using one but I already have a boat anchor, love my 2 tt .46's though. Thanks. Randy

I wouldn't be at all surprised. From memory the OS61FX weighs about 24.5 ounces with muffler. I've got a Stalker 61 which weighs 13.5 ounces including rear exhaust muffler

Thats about normal. Just look at .70 4 strokes. I think the O.S. is around 20 oz. Now look at the weight of a .70 sized 2 stroke. The Tower Hobbies .75 is about 23 oz. However, the Tower engine is only 18+ oz. without muffler where the O.S. 4-stroke is just 1/2 oz. less.

About light engines, the K&B Sportsters are pretty
light,I just weighed a .65 and it was about
15 1/2 oz without muffler. These things are about the thinnest castings I've seen, hard to imagine one any lighter.

Magnum XL61RFS: 15.5 Oz. w/ muffler.

And some people still think 4strokes are heavier.

The TT site lists weights with muffler, the OS site lists weights without muffler. Look at the differance in weight of the OS FX .46 and Pro .46. The Pro .46 is actually a tad lighter, but the muffler may weigh a tad more, same with the Pro .46. The TT .91 is not as heavy as it would seem when you find that the OS site is weight without muffler. But a 91 4 stroke muffler is probably less than 2 ounces in weight.

Check Tower site, they show OS weights with and without muffler, TT weight with muffler. OS .61 is 23.9 with muffler TT is 25.7. I think? Could be TT muffler is heavier?

thanks guys, I thought every manufacturer showed the weight without muffler, looks like most of the bb engines weigh pretty close to the same.

Michael X...here's the Stalker site
http://www.stalker-modusa.com/index3.htm
although I gotta admit I was cheating a bit cos they're designed as a CL engine although they've been made so an OS carby can be fitted for RC use.

Sorry to say but true. While I found the TT 46 to be a Gem the 61 is a chunk of lead in comparison to OS.
