There were different sizes and types of Johnson engines. The company went under in the 60's. I have a 35 Stunt Supreme. But it dates from back in the 60's. I know there were waht was called a 35 or 36 long stroke too.
Maybe if you posted a picture, someone could tell you?
Good luck,
Jim

Hi Johnson bought out Henry Orwick and took over his line of smaller engines. Henry Orwick hated glow plugs and Johnson saw that the days of the spark ignition motor were gone. That said the Orwicks were painted green and the early Johnsons were also painted green. These are truly collectors items. They were made in 29/35/36/and at the end of the run an 09 was added.
They all will still command decent money, for the 35 there is a difference in the small or the big case value wise. A 29 Rat race or a combat 36 usually isn't as highly regarded. But if it is a good condition 29/35 complete and not hogged up or drilled out they have sold for $75.00 on Ebay. New ones in the box with paperwork have reached up to $175.00 .
Would I pay that much for one , not really, new motors are much better made, parts are really not plentiful for those old Johnsons. and RJL has the dies for the 35. Who knows they keep saying that they are going to make it someday. If reasonably priced then I'll buy me a brand new modern Johnson.

I bought my first Johnson 35 in about 1958, and I believe they had just come out then, under the Johnson name. It was a good engine, and I went on to run Johnsons in U/C Stunt in the late fifties and early sixties, and placed in two Nats with them, in spite of most people running Fox 35s then. Hi Johnson was a nice guy, and supportive. As an earlier post said, they wouldn't compare to modern day engines, but they were very good in their time.
