Default Moki 1.80???

I just bought this engine at a swap meet and plan on putting it on the front of a 1/4 scale extra. I usually dont run glow engines this size (most of the time I jump up to gas around this point). I was wondering what is a great prop for this motor on an extra and I would also like to know what fuel is best in a beast this size.

Layne,
Moki's like low nitro fuel. 0-5% max. Depending on the weight of your Extra, an 18X10 or 20X8 would be a good place to start on props. Be sure to use large fuel tubing instead of medium like you would on a smaller engine. The Moki likes to drink the fuel and medium is a bit on the small side.

I have a Moki 1.80 on my 13.25 lb 1/4 scale GP Giles.
The engine turns a Bambula 18x8 at 8500 rpm and the performance is unlimited.
I want to try a 19x8 to make the engine work a little more and get more vertical.
A 18x10 Menz std gives me better speed and barely unlimited vertical.
The engine uses a K&B 1L plug, FAI fuel, Bisson pitts with the tips cut off and I have installed a Perry VP-30 pump for consistent engine runs.
Great combination.
Fuel burn is about 1.5 oz/min and I'm not as careful as I could be with the left stick.

Good luck with your Moki!

The moki likes to run a little on the rich side. Mine needed a fuel pump in order to get the fuel it needed, otherwise it would just lean out and die.

Great running(with fuel) and lots of power!

Good luck

My MOKI 1.8 spins a Mejzlic 19X8 propeller at a solid 7700 RPM. IF you can believe the thrust calculators, this is about 23 lbs of static thrust, or about a 1.7:1 thrust to weight ratio on my 13.75 lb Dave Patrick Edge.

My Moki 1.8 swings Master Airscrew Scimitar 19x8 @ 8000 rpm, but the pull is not as good as APC 18x6 @ 9400 rpm.

Are Moki's hard to set up or are they easy like an OS?
