Default Ringed engine settings...

Up to now all my engines have been non ring type. I know how to adjust these easily by leaning to max rpm and then backing off by a few hundred rpm. Now I have some new SK80 ring engines. Do I adjust the ringed engine the same way?? [8D]

Yes, the same richened procedure. The ringed engines like some castor
in the fuel, the ring will last a long time.

Yep, you can tune them much the same as an ABx although I prefer a bit more than just a couple of hundred below peak. As Dave said, use some castor. The main thing though is not to run them in like an ABx.

They will need a very rich break in. The entire first tank. Then slowly lean out a little at a time. Run a few tanks through it before getting in the air.

Enjoy,

Jim

Thankx for the info! I burn 3 tanks of fuel on new engines before I head for the runway so thats standard. Just waiting for the road to the field to dry out now. []
