Default TT91 FS Runs in Reverse

Any reason why my TT91 starts in reverse about 1 in 4 starts?..Engine is new with about 1 gal. of fuel through it. Fred123[&:]

Four strokes are kinda that way. They will quit running if you give them the throttle and you can try again.

Some people bump them up against the compression stroke from the back side to start them forwards.

I have the same engine and start it with a dynatron starter,, doesn't start in reverse. If you are too rich on start up and hand flip it can start in reverse.. Jim

You may be over choking it. Never have a problem unless it is over choked. The rich fuel gets in the muffler and provides fuel for running backward. No fuel in the muffler and it won't run backward. If the muffler is tilted down from the engine it will make this worse. It tilted foward the fuel will drain back into the engine.
