Default Model engine Dyno?

Click on this link for the finest looking dyno I've seen for a model engine?

Sounds like he made an eddy current brake of sorts. I would love to know how he did that. That's how good full scale engine dynos are made.

Only real problem I see is he has a fan driven by engine power. You'd want to have an independent electric fan to avoid that power loss.

Just my idea, unless the fan is calibrated.
A lot of calculating has to be done anyway to compensate for barometric pressure and moisture content, so adding the power absorption of the fan adds to the computing fun.

I would think that you could set up a calibration factor for the cooling prop with a variable speed elctric motor?

Enjoy,

Jim
