Default A neighbor needs help (he REALLY needs help)

The following is an e-mail I received from a neighbor asking for my help in getting his "engine" to run.

Well I'm smart enough to know when to stay away lest I get hurt along with him and his "crew"

So maybe someone on this forum could help this guy!!

Please forgive his spelling as I think he is a West Point Grad!!

======================================

Hello the hobby shop guy told me about you.

new to RC I am having problem starting the motor on my first plane. it was gift and I don't know much about the motor.

It is big and has what appera to be two round things sticking out sideways from eachother with little white things with wires running to them at the ends.

on the motor is the words Bison (or brison) with the number 6.4 followed by some strange code "cu in" and the word twin.

a friend pointed out the word twin and said it looked like maybe i only got half of the pare orf twins. I hope tihs is wrong as I don't have much money.(or time) left

Anyway we got some fuel like what when I was a boy cox thumbledrone. It smells and hurt my nose and near froze my hands off when i squirted some on to the big motor to start it running.

I got a battery from my kids electric ride in car to warm up the engine like on the little fellows motor i remember as a lad.

The battery wire wont fit the white plug things right so I had to cut off the end and wraps it around one of the little whit things which i hope is a glowing plug..

I had 2 guys help and talked one into turning the big old prop. he got scared cause the motor is so big. the other guy called him a cowerd and did the spinning.

After a while nothing happened so I held the glowing wire on while he spinned it good. Man alive I almost peed myself it hurt so bad. that little battery had a big kick hidden in it.

me and my crew could not get the big motor to run so we looked in a model plane book and seen pitures of some kind of electric motor starter. One of the guys is a contractor (gypo sheetrock) and went and got a great big 1 inch electrik drill and we chucks it on the bolt that holds on the prop.

I squirt on the last of the fowl smelling cox gas on the engine and my buddy spins the drill. suddenly All hell broken lose.

the big motor made a big loud noise and the plane (called a edge 540 i think it was designed by that gutar player from U-2) spun like a windmill knocking my crewman in the face with the little back wing. The drill bucks and spins and hit my other crew in the mouth breaking his tooth out.

Then I noticed somethin real strange. the plane looks like it is shrinking up. when i try and grab it it is hotter than all get out and burn my finger and hand. also my lower privates got burned from that evil cox gas spilled on my jeans. somehow it is burning up with no fire to see. the hobby shop guy says it was that horible cox gas burns invisable so you cant sees it..

any way i am hooked on this RC control hobby. my wife says as soon as my hand and other stuff is well (she was sure mad at me and missing our usual fun) and i go back to work i can have a new palne.

My question is can i just hook up the plane to my honda 4 wheeler and tow it to start it? how fast will i go for this to make it work to spin the big prop? I thought this cause an old guy told me once they towed thier racing boats real fast in the water to start them.

thanks for help.

Why yes, yes that is a wine rack!! V V V Very Good!!

BTW: This model (if you look real close) is equipped with our exclusive "rear wheel BUTT BRAKES".

That should tell you why the wine rack..........

You can alternately chug the wine or pour it on your butt to cool it down.

Our "testers" report that the more you drink the less you need to pour on your butt.

Well, this story makes sense to me. The writer shows a high degree of intelligence. However, I don't believe the aircraft in the photo will exceed 12 mph with that small wing the driver is holding on to. Hence it will take forever to get anywhere. I do like the open canopy though.

Any idea who give him that plane and engine as a gift? Seems like someone I would like to get to know...
