well, after not flying my trainer for a little bit, i decided to take her up just today. got there, got one flight in, and at the end of that flight, the engine quit, due to what i thought was a running out of fuel. after some adventure, i got her down safely, inspected her, and all was good, i thought. fueled her back up, tried starting her, only to find out... the engine is siezed?!. ive never had any problems with my evolution 46 until now. following the suggestion of a fellow club member, i took the engine home, took it all apart, only to find, a fairly large metal shaving all crushed up inside the crankcase. took that out, rebuilt the engine, and boom, she runs fine once again. i dont know exactly what the piece of metal was from. was it perhaps a ring that simply fell of and got crushed by the piston? i dont know. but for all those with evolution engines, and you think yours is siezed, there is a good possibility it isnt.

The word is "Siezed."
That bit of metal was probably the ball cage from the rear bearing. Did you replace the bearings?
Bill.
