I'm currently assembling a SIG Somethin' Extra and plan on putting a Magnum XL .61RFS in it. I don't have the engine yet and I'm to the part in assembly where I need to put the throttle cable tube in place. Does anyone know where it should exit the firewall? If you're looking at the front of the plane and it has the two piece SIG motor mount, where should it be? No guesses please, I want to drill one hole.

The only thing someone could post would be a guess.
It depends on how you decide to mount the engine.
After you figure that out... ideally, you want it to exit the firewall in such a
way so that the cable exits the tube pointing directly at the throttle arm.

The engine will be mounted upright. Nothing fancy. Middle of the engine bay. I don't see how that could be nothing but a guess. What is the relation of the throttle to the center line of the engine might be an easier way to ask? Or any other reference point on the engine for that matter.

Get the engine before drilling the hole...

Agreed. Wait until you have the engine.

See if there are other steps you can do in the meantime. Fuelproofing would be a good one.

Nowhere, in your original post, did you say how you were going to mount your engine.
Given that the "upright" mounting is my personal "last choice", I wouldn't have guessed that.

Good to hear you've decided to wait on the hole, though. It *is* the best course of action.
