From: Wayne, NJ,
I just bought a HOB Laser Stick and need an engine for it. It states that a .074 to a .10 engine would be fine. Any suggestions? I was thinking about a Norvell...

Elwood,
I completed my CheapAss Stik (original in-house name at HOB) about 3 yrs ago. Transparent yellow wings, with red fuselage and red trim. Mine was the first one completed by a customer outside of HOB. Used to fly it a lot when I lived in another state and flew off a paved runway. It's a little hard to rise-off-ground at my grass field, but it can be done with tall, skinny foam wheels. Nowadays, it mostly hangs up in my shop, above my workbench right now, but could be flown at a moment's notice. I had it hanging next to my UltraStik 60, and they nearly look like twins with almost identical color scheme. Of course the US60 is ever so slightly larger........
At the time the CheaPass was initially produced, House of Balsa had never actually flown one with a .074, but they "estimated" it would work based on how it flew on the OS 10 they used for all the development testing. I chose to use a Fox 15BB in mine, which is one of the few really great engines Fox made. A Norvel in a 10 or 15 size would be great. They are jewels. The Fox 15 or Magnum 15 would also be an excellent choice. My CheapAss Stik is very, very quick, and quite athletic.
Also, it is very strong, with the hardwood arrowshaft leading edge. I had the aileron servo fail one time. The darn servo locked up on landing, about 3 feet off the runway, with the right wingtip a bit low. The plane hit the pavement wingtip first. It did several somersaults (spelling?) wing tip over wing tip and there wasn't a scratch on that little sucker. Strong!
