Engine Performance Depends On Location

I am seeing quite a bit of this here and many of the newer guys do not seem to be picking up on it. If your not satisfied or sure on the performance you get from your engine, then ask for help. Problem with this is you need to be aware of where the advice is coming from.
If your at 5000ft or similar, the numbers you get from a majority of the country can be near sea level and these numbers are way off and usually better performance. Thus leaving you thinking your engine is crap when that is the best you'll get.
I have a Jett .90L. With the prop Dub recommends, he gets in the mid 14,000rpm but he is in Texas. I am at 5000ft and mine are 2000rpm less but that is the best I will get up here. Lets go to Denver, were at the same altitude but the air is different and numbers can be better their.
You get a sea level response from Ohio asked by a guy in Ala&^%$bama. 2000%humidity, your going to have different numbers. Frankly I feel a majority of the problems is lack of proper tuning but thats my opinion. I have a F-20 and a Jett 50. I get around 115mph here. Guys in California a claiming 130-140 with the same set up.
Don't forget the DA, you can possibly add on a couple thousand more feet on any give hot 90 degree day.

I fly mostly CL stunt at the moment. Most of my flying here is around 1200 ft. I go out to Tucson, 2500 ft., in March to a contest. I go a couple days early to get used to the fact that the ground is about 4 ft higher in Tucson than at home.

That can bite you also on one of those hot days. Performance could be great up until around 11am when it starts getting hot and humid, you could be pushing 3000ft DA. Were a bit fortunate here. Although were at 5000ft, we still can add on some DA but are overall daily humidity is very low. ON any given day, we can tack on an extra 1500-2000ft but if we were out east or northwest could be quite a hit.
One thing that bugs me also happen to me several years ago when I started. I bought the tower combo with a 40 la. Where I'm at, the engine was performing more like a weak .30. The back end of that plane was constantly hanging down on the verge or a stall. Some of you may notice that all my planes are overpowered, this is why.

I often used to have that problem when flying C/L, and sometimes still with radio, when landing - the ground being four foot higher than where my model is heading...

Same problem around here
Even with the ground only 4 inches higher then I was aware I have had severe problems while landing....
