I just got a Norvel throttled Big Mig .061 engine. The cylinder head jusat screws on and off, but it has two little notches in it. I have severly scratched up the cylinder head using pliers and I am going to order a new one. Is there any right way to srew in on tight without pliers? Any other info? Thanks.

I'm only familiar with cox but I would assume they have the same notches , they are for a special tool that (should have) come with the motor, careful with pliers as you could distort the head especially if it is hot when you take it apart should be readily available where you got your engine.. I dont have a site but if you find a breakdown of a cox starter kit it should show you the tool with it, but I think all my engines came with it , I have 3 or 4 but doubt they would fit a .061...hope it helps... I believe the tool in question is called a glow head wrench I have a bunch of them from when i was a kid. Go back to where you bought the engine they should have the proper wrench.

By the way getting those little engines (cox .010-.049) to run right was such a pain!!!! How does the norvel start/Run

It runs pretty well, though I already burnt out the glow plug. (I'm a beginner). I'm glad I finally know how to break it in properly with the fuel line pinch test.
