Default TT Pro .25 bearing problem

Wonder if anyone can send me in the right direction...

I have a TT Pro (or GP, I can't remember which) .25 (the SLEEVE bearing version)...the front bearing is leaking fuel while running...

can that front bearing be replaced? A few people at my field told me it cannot?!?!

and if it can, can someone point me towards a web resource to find parts and guidance?

Tia,

[b]EA:

From a practical standpoint, no, theplain bearing can not be replaced. In actuality it can, but the cost would probably be more than replacing the engine. Machine shops don't work for free.

Were you running this engine on synthetic oil? Plain bearings do not live long without castor oil, in spite of the hype from the synthetic fans.

bummer......

Hmm.. I think I was using Wildcat most of the time with that one... synth/castor blend...

I think it is my own fault with the pressure from the starter. I now use a chicken stick on my 2 strokes to try and be a little easier on the engine....
and then save the starter for the 4 strokes......

Oh well.... time to go shopping! I wanted to upgrade to a .30 or so anyway!

I doubt you did any damage with the starter. The stress placed on the bushing from the force of pressing the starter cone against the spinner would be negligible in comparison to typical running loads.

[b]EA:

I have a Magnum branded version of the same engine (GP25), it's at least 15 years old and still going strong. If you can find a new case for yours it's worth fixing so long as the rest is still good.

[b]EA:

Agreement with Lee Jarvis. Mine has been cranked electrically from new.
