RE: Club Enya
I think YOU ought to buy it. I think that after this world wide financial shake out you might find that Enya is no more and the 240 is highly collectable. If I had one I wouldn't sell it with a gun to my head and would probably just sit around and grin at it a-lot.

Be careful if has been run. 4 cycle engines that have sat for any length of time are going to need a good cleaning on the inside as well as the outside, maybe new bearings if it was put away with after run oil of some type. The bearings are somewhat difficult to replace in this engine, specifically the one in the backplate that supports the cam gear drive. I paid almost 700 bucks for a used on on Fleabay and had to buy almost another 100 bucks in replacement parts from Enya Direct. You can still get almost every part for this engine direct from Enya in Japan. And no, I would not sell mine now. Even though gas engines are more economical fuel wise, NOTHING beats the sound of this engine idling on the runway.
I have copies of the instruction sheet if you need it.

Darn, you guys a making me jealous! I'm getting a 1.55 this month that was purchased in 2000 and never run - and I don't even have a use for it.[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

Yes Paul, I am actually thinking of putting it in an RC Guys Agwagon. Seems like a perfect choice for this airplane. Any videos of your Staggerwing in flight yet?

If the Adwagon is anything like the crop duster Ag Cat it has to be a wonderful flyer. I used to rent an apartment at the end of a private airfield and would run out to watch it fly over my house when I heard that wonderful raial engine roar over my head.

What a beautiful aircraft! I have seen these in full scale. The Grumman Ag Cat is a biplane. It sort of replaced the old Stearman PT-17s as their airframes rotted away from all of the chemicl agricultural sprays. My dad could have bought a new, in-the-crate PT-17 after the war for $700.00. He bought a boat instead. I still haven't forgiven him.
Fly that Agwagon carefully. She should be in a museum.

VT-240s typically sell for approx. $700 used on Ebay. You might get a better price on one if you are lucky. If I had seen one for $425 I would have snapped it up in a second.

I know your story Mike and I don't mean to throw salt in the wounds............
I bought a new VT 240 here on RCU for $600 recently. The original box is trashed but everything else in it was pristine. I've wanted one of these for a few years and I jumped on this one only minutes after the seller listed his AD. Probably scared the hell out of him
I don't know when or if I will run this beauty, it sure is purty

I've got a Saito 3.25 radial that needs a home and I thought about trying to make it work on that plane.
