I know someone with an OS FT-300 opposed twin available, should you be interested. PM me, if so.

Bill,
Would love to, but I am in a hunter gatherer mode right now. Engine needed.

ORIGINAL: Ram Jet This is intended as a general post to all Enya lovers. eBay item # 130868902757, 120 4C, nice, $10.00 + $10.00 ship, 4 days. It looks like NEW! I'd jump on it but I have a new 1.55.

That's a nice one, Bill. Personally I'm thinking of going to petrol with that size. Nitro fuel is getting kind of pricey these days. [&o]

This will come in handy for me as I have a Jett now. Even only being a .35, this thing will slurp 7oz in 4min flat at a rich 16,500rpm. That's 15% nitro too.

Make your own fuel then. Initial cost is high, but the per gallon cost is half or less at least for me. $8-10/Gal for 10% nitro 20% oil. That's opposed to $32/Gal at the hobby shop.

Same rules apply to big engines. Lower compression like 8:1 will allow for more nitro than a 12:1 engine.
I use a little nitro and castor in my ice auger and weed wacker. The auger has a noticeable bump in power even using the original, factory original, breaker points and condenser from 1974.

Ive got the 35 X in a Raptor heli and its a little down on power from the TT36 I use , is there a little power boost I can use
Its a great motor very solid run and keeps its tune I use 20% castor , I think it likes it , very gooey, and messy

I'll try anything once, twice if I like it.

I thought the great thing about Enyas wasn't so much about their power output that was more or less respectable although perhaps less in some cases; it seemed they would run forever without much wear if properly cared for. Also they were able to swing larger diameter props (at least in airplanes) with respectable authority. [:-]

I just installed a 35X in my Gaui NX4. It doesn't have the most power, but its awesome for learning collective management. I'm running 11degrees total collective pitch in either direction. I'm also using the Gaui tuned pipe which added some power. Currently, I'm using Byron Fuel Rotor Rage 15% Nitro 22% synthetic oil and it hasn't missed a beat. I'm currently running a headspeed of 2500 which turns the motor at it's max RPM of 18,000. GREAT little engine - I'll see if I can get some video on YouTube. [8D]

Im using 15 % nitro and a genisis mini pipe, have it in pieces and its good looks fine pretty burnt from the castor , Im wondering what I can do to get a little more power maybe some filing here and there, its pretty gooey Will post up a picture so you can check the wear
Im running plus 7 minus 7 with wood blades , has trouble pulling it
the P/l seems a little loose
I measure .5 mm head clearance , thats not good Ive been fooling around with the head, from a while back and I think its wrong , I will close that down

Finaly the sun is over Denmark, and I got a chance to get my overhauled .53 in the air.
Bought a second hand new in box clipped wing cub 48 from the world models, and it was a great arf to put together....very pleased with it.
Since I had dis-assembled the carb completly, I was prepared to fiddle with it to get the engine running properly and fine tuned.
But after half a day of tuning, and LOTS of deastick landings, I just could not get it running reliably.
It was very rich in the mid range, and I adjusted the air bleed screw back and forth, and re-adjustet the main neelde just as much, but to no good [:@]
It ran horrible.
Then I removed the muffler tank pressure, and everything just changed
The airbleed screw works fantastic once you find the sweet spot.
Now the engine finaly ran great throughout the whole range.
The clipped wing cub was now doing full aerobatics, and the engine didn`t mind at all
Nice smoothe power from the engine, and throttle transition is exelent.
I flew around with an OS 48 muffler today, as the original muffler included was damaged.
In te pictures, I installed a slightly larger ASP 61 muffler, where I unscrewd the pressure tap, and installed a machine screw in its place.

Thinking about getting an SS30S for my Sig Primary Force. I have never messed with an Enya. Is this a good stunt engine?

The SS30 is a great little stunt engine IMHO. Mine is in a 37 oz, 520 sq.in 'Miss BJ' (similar in size to the Primary Force) and is perfect for it. I don't bother with trying to run a 4/2 break, as in a 'wet 2' it's almost like an electric motor. The revs just don't vary from start to finish, regardless of what you do with the model. I just run it as it comes out of the box, ie stock venturi and muffler, with 5% nitro and an APC 10.5x4.5. Oh, and it starts every time with just a clockwise tweak of the spinner. What's not to like?

What type of piston and sleeve does an Enya have?

It needs a bit more break-in than an ABC or ABN engine, but nothing like some people would have you believe. After about 45 minutes of bench running I couldn't see what I was achieving, and just flew the thing. That was about 5 years ago and it's still showing no sign of wear.

RE: Club Enya
I have an SS30bb R/C personally, and I find it to be a real sweetheart. I ran mine for about 50 minutes on the bench using 5% nitro 25% castor. After the break-in, it throttled great. The stock muffler sucks, robs 3000+ rpm.
If you're willing to run straight castor fuel, the iron/steel is great. If you plan to run a synthetic/castor blended fuel, I'd suggest the ringed version. Call it a superstition, but I won't run synthetic oil in my iron/steel engines. That's just me though.

Fley it on a very light 3d electric plane. Great performance, but I got realy tired of the noise it made
