Two carbs, two mufflers, two cylinders. Each cylinder burns 1oz/min. Those tanks are 16oz. Run for 7-8min on one tank or run for 14-15min on two. I wasn't going to buy a single huge tank and large tubing until I know what the engine will go onto/into.

Hi, does anyone know if the old fliteline solutions website is archived any where, or better yet does anyone have it on pdf. Any information on this matter is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My Feedback: (3)
I printed out a lot of their info relating to my specific motors, ie, 40 and 50BB. What are you looking for?
I would also second 1QwkSport2.5r in recommending that site. They seemed to grab quite a bit.

Another cool website with many engine reviews including Fox engines is here too:

The rumors floating around say they will not be making any engines for the foreseeable future but they are not selling the tooling. So there is hope they may resume production but likely not for quite awhile.

I'm bidding on a MKX-B carb for my twin, keeping my eyes open for another one. Haven't been able to source a pair of the new .60 Carburetors yet..

I called about a month ago and they had no engines at all. I did not ask about parts. They said they definately will start production when they get caught up with their current contracts.
In other words it is basically work to keep the emplyees on staff while waiting for new contracts.

Ran my big Fox twin today. Two 16oz tanks simultaneously. Ran 3/4 of the tanks down before I shot this video, refilled tanks half full and ran them down to the bottom before calling it quits for the day. Had a hard time getting the starboard pot to light and stay lit initially, but leaning the needles down a little cured that trouble. Running it quite rich for the first few tanks slowly leaning it down.

That is looking really good there. The engine isn't wanting to drop a cylinder at all as you play with the throttle and it is running really rich on top of that. So I think that the asymmetrical cylinder setup did the trick for sure then.

The sound kinda reminds me of the old Triumph motorbikes (I think) that had simultaneously firing cylinders. It sounds like a twin at times and a single at others. When both cylinders are tuned exactly the same it sounds like a single. Richen one side 3-4 clicks and it sounds like a v-twin with alternating firing order.

Since the engine have sat for quite a while, you usually need to richen it up more as the old oil tends to congeal and glow up the orifices some. Fox test ran all of their engines before they shipped them and they used FAI fuel with castor oil in it. So the oil residue serves as a packing oil too. Now for Fox engines that have sat in their box for many years, they tend to get stuck and need to be cleaned up some and loosened back up before you try to use them.

My engine was loose and did not smell of castor oil at all. The plugs looked like they had some time on them but otherwise appeared to
not have run at all. I use all castor oil in my fuel anyway, but I opted for the jug of 5% nitro. The rings were silver in color so I wonder if they use steel rings or if they're cast iron. If they are cast iron, they'd have to have run a LOT of fuel through it to get the rings to look like they do. The cylinders looked virgin with no runtime at all, not a single scuff or scratch. The casting of the head clamps is a little cruddy, some bits of the fins is missing here and there, but otherwise looks its age. As I understand it, they only made 2,000 of these engines in one batch between 1979 and 1981 I believe. First run in 34 years. The second run won't happen for awhile as I'll be out of town for a few days again. I'll have another video up later of the very first run where it only had one cylinder firing.

Here is the video that precedes the previous video of my 1.20 by about 10 minutes. It took awhile to get both pots firing. Two different glow plugs is partially to blame, over-rich needle settings were second to blame.

I tried running it yesterday to break it in more but my starter battery was pretty low on charge so I had to resort to hand flipping/back flipping which resulted in the engine starting backwards repeatedly. I'll run it some more today hopefully.

Tried that, it was a stubborn Fox. LoL. I ran it more today but it was really obstinate and kept alternating which cylinder it wanted to drop. Lots of oil building up in one cylinder. I'm gonna try again tomorrow with leaner needles. I want to make sure I'm getting both needles seated and backed out the exact same amount. I put brand new plugs in it too.

Hi guys...sorry for taking so long to reply......been on the road working, just got home this weekend. I'm looking for the project section. I have a lot of fox engines and would like to smarten them up. I should have copied all the info when the site was up and running. Didn't think it would ever be gone. As always any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

I think he means to clean them up nice so that they look "Smart".
But it does conjure up thoughts of adding a microprocessor controlled ECU, fuel injection, sensors and a CDI microprocessor controlled ignition unit to make the engines "smart" too.
