Default Saito V stack

I have a Saito 100 that desperatly needs a velocity stack. Has anyone ever made one before? Is it possible to solder a metal tube over the carb? Would that hold up to vibration? If not, Which one is the correct one on the Horizon site? I see three different ones.

Thanks,
Greg

[b]Greg:

The Horizon part number SAI50GK93 stack fits all the mid block engines, from the FA-56 up to and including the FA-100.

The big block FA-120 and FA-150 use the SAI120S93, and the FA-180 uses the SAI18093 stack.

For all you small block fliers, sorry. There is no factory stack for you. This is the FA-30 and FA-40A engines.

Bill.

Hi Greg,

Which of the benefits are you desparate for? Ease of choking, less spit back, fuel economy, or?

The Velocity Stack will give less spit back and results in some improved economy. No increase in performance, e.g. no increase in RPM. All the Golden Knights seem to come with one installed, the less expensive silver version do not have the stacks.

It really does do a good job of keeping the engine bay clean and dry. I highly recommend installing one.

Cheers,

Chip

Ernie,

The reason it needs one is because I recently installed it in a cowled airplane, and at the end of the day it looks as if it rained fuel on the inside of the cowl.

Yes get the stack that bill noted, i put one on my 72, 91 and the 100 same part number. i believe they gave me more top end as well as better throttle and idle. Maybe they just tune better with them...
