Default *Prop For Saito 1.00*

What is a good size prop to use on a Saito 1.00 for sport and areobaics flying. This engine will be going on a Skyshark Edge 540.

Looks like 3D props to me exeter_acres. Not really looking for that. Just general sport flying and aerobatics is what I'm looking for.

Zippi,

APC 15X6 or 14X8. Both good props for the 100.

I like the 15x6apc. Should turn the low 9's and put out plenty of thrust & forward speed for "general sport flying and aerobatics" with a 6 to 7.5 pound plane. I have a 6.5 pound Extra and it pulls great & plenty of speed.

Don't believe you will find a better prop that will offer more thrust and still have more than enough forward speed.

a 13-4 sounds sorta small.

I use a 14-8 for sport flying but I've seen 14-6's on them. They wind up pretty high with the 14-6.

Seems to me that a 13x4 on an FA-100 would be a good way to get short engine life - constant over speeding.

Alternately keeping the throttle almost shut, in which case you might as well use a 65 or 72.

Bill.

15x6 is a pretty good sport prop for the Edge. It will fly the plane at about 60 mph @ full throttle. At 64" this plane is about 1/5 scale, so the speed won't be too slow. Besides, you will need the pull for a 8-lb. plane.
