Looking for a parts manual for a Saito 45 w/bolt on head. Also would anyone know the part number for the S type cam that would fit this engine?
Thanks

RE: Saito 45
Hello; I have 5 Saito 45's and have never seen one with a detachable head. I have, however put the "S" camshaft in my oldest 45 and noticed a huge performance increase. I did this back in 95 or maybe even earlier, and it has been performing ever since. I would be surprised if you could find the old "tamer" cam anywhere. I posted a picture of the two different cams side by side quite awhile ago. Print it out and take it shopping with you, they are quite noticable different.

The first Saito four stroke engines had open rockers. The early series had aluminum rockers and the later had iron/steel rockers. Both of these early designs had detachable cylinder heads. The one piece jugs came along with the enclosed valve gear.

I know the 30S35 cam will fit even the oldest small block with enclosed valve gear, and I'm as certain as I can be that it will also fit the open rocker engines. But that's not a guarantee.
Call Horizon, talk to Dennis Davenport and explain your problem. He might even have a used or worn out cam he'll send you to be sure of the fit, then you can order one for installation. Alternately if he doesn't have a used one you might get advance permission to return the new cam in its original package if it doesn't work. And again he may know for certain that it will, or will not, fit.
