From: , WI,
Well, I sure did it. In the process of disassembling my OS 48 I failed to note the position of the cam with respect to the piston. Does anyone have assembly instructions I can use for my used OS 48 4 stroke? I bought this engine off an old friend many years ago and never took the time to get it running well. I was taking it apart to clean it thoroughly (go crockpot!) and took out the cam. Any suggestions? There has to be an easy way to set the timing…

Hello; With the crank at top dead centre, install the cam so that the timing mark points at the lifter. It's about 11 o'clock, not straight up.
