Vaca Valley R/C, It's on Cement Hill Rd just a short way from the base. You go out the main gate, turn right onto Peabody, left onto Cement Hill and its about 2-3 miles down on the left side.
Where do you fly... ah, DeadSticker?

That's what I figured. I talked to Jim a couple moths ago about becoming a member. But now I am going to Germany for 3 months so I am going to wait till I get back to join. We usually fly Lagoon Valley, but I am getting really tired of flying off dirt!! That runway is looking pretty tempting.....

Yes, the runway is very nice. You get kinda spoiled by it though...
You, fly out at Lagoon Valley? Me and a friend also fly out there, although we fly Slope Gliders from "The Rock" up on the hill.
We (VVRC) are having a meeting this Tues. night, 7:30pm, out at the Nut Tree airport. You're welcome to stop by as a guest and meet the members.
BTW, what do you do in the Air Force?

I can totaly understand getting spoiled by the runway!! But hey...it's good to be spoiled every now and then. I know exactly where you are talking about. We fly off the soccer field (by the bathrooms) because it is allot smoother than the makeshift runway they made out there. They also say electrics only, but we have been flying nitro out there for ever, and I asked the park attendant if we could and he said sure. I would love to stop buy at the meeting, but I am getting ready to leave for Rhein Main Wed morning for 3 months. I have already met Jim, Will, the treasurer (I think his name is John??), and a couple other people. I have been out to the field 3 or 4 times while people were flying. I used to live right at the corner of cement hill and claybank.
I work in the command post on the maintenace side of the house. Otherwise known as the MOCC. But now it is all consolidated so now it's just command post. I will definantly become a member after I get back. Just because I have a Aresti, Hangar 9 P51D, a Magic on the way. I also have a NIB Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 that I haven't had a chance to start building yet. I traded all of my RC car stuff to a guy in So Cal for a bunch of planes and engines NIB. I haven't touched my cars since I started flyingRight now I mainly fly the Sig SE w/a saito 56. I love this plane!! It has about 35 flights on it so far. Only becasue last weekend we went out and I burned all my gas so it wasen't sitting for three months. I also have another SE that is still in the bones waiting to be covered. I lost my pitts out at the lake last week
. I lost an elevator servo and anytime I gave it any type of input it would just roll. No matter how much corrective aileron I gave it. It was sad....I had just got the new TME smoke system hooked up about 3 flights prior and was just getting it tuned. But thats ok, I have the Ultimate w/a RCS140 gasser to play with now!!

Ooohhhh, sorry to hear about the Pitts. But, hey, like someone told me once, there are two types of airplanes... those that have crashed and those that will : )
Enjoy Frankfurt (the ZDZ engine factory is somewhere near the base, should look it up), I wish I were going for 3 months.
BTW: I'm a C-5 Loadmaster over in the 21st Airlift Squadron, in case you were wondering.

Ohh...aaaa....I din't mean what I said about the broke ass c-5 thing
I didn't know that the zdz factory was there too. I know the 3w factory is like 11 miles east of frankfurt in hanau. I have already planned a trip there. Might have to looke up the zdz factory too.

Maybe I'm wrong but I though 3W and ZDZ were made in the same place. Anyways, you definitely need to check it out which ever one it is.
BTW: One of the club members flew to Frankfurt just to get a ZDZ engine for a 30% plane he is building. Oh, yeah, his wife flies for united so it didn't cost him a dime
