Rebuilt my TT Pro .36 after a year and a half storage. Tried to fly it for the first time yesterday. The low speed needle valve is 3 turns out from stop. Running 15% nitro with an OS plug. The engine crank at 2 turns out and the high speed needle, but died as soon as I removed the Hot Shot
. Turned the high speed needle down to 1 1/2 turns out, same thing
. Went to 1 turn out, still the same problem
. Kept on leaning the high speed needle out until it ran without the Hot Shot. I shut the engine down to check the setting ---1/4 turn out from stop. Seemed kinda weird, so I crunk the engine back up, removed the hot shot, and ran it up. As soon as it hit half throttle, it died. I continued to play with the engine for another 30 minute before I got mad and threw the plane in the back of the truck. Now I have a broken horizontal stab and an engine that won't run
. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!

Sound more like a bad glow plug or the wrong glow plug at this point, I always start at 2.5 to 3 turns out on the high side , and to where the low speed is not inside the spraybar at full throttle, then adjust from there. another problem could be low glow battery.

Hello!
Storage...for a year and a half.......running castor oil?!!!
What condition are your ballbearings??? after that long time you should better check them out!
Also.....What fuel do you use ?
Glowplug?
Propeller?
Regards!

I'm running 15% Omega fuel. When I rebuil the engine, I put in a new piston/sleeve, and new Boca bearings. Everything feels and sounds slick. The darn thing just won't run. I'm also running an OS A3 plug (what was in it the last time I ran it) turning an APC 10-6 prop. This engine used to be my best engine, now its crap.

Most likely it will need more break-in time , as much as a gallon depending on the fit . Could also be airleak somewhere, and depending on how bad the old bearing were there may be ar leaking threw the crank shaft, The actual seal for the port in the crank shaft when the piston comes down is the crank case, as bearings get worn they can get sloppy and allow some of the case to wear away, sometime in these cases the engine will run better with the bad bearings because the new bearings take up all the slop and create a small gap between the case and the crank.

I have one of these engines. I find the high and low needle adjustments quite finicky. Set the low speed as suggested by Dave B. My high speed is turned out almost 4 turns. I Believe you are running the engine to lean and a possible air leak. Apply some High Temp. silicone to the spray bar assembly and check your O-rings. I also use a K&B 4520 glow plug with an idle bar.
