Default Engine Stall when landing

When I come in for a landing and cut the throttle the engine stops. This has only happened the last few times I have taken it out. The engine is an MDS and I fly a Hangar 9 Extra Easy Trainer. It has been very dependable until the last few go arounds. The engine seems fine on take off and during flight. Anyone have any ideas? Too lean, too rich. If so what should I adjust and by how much?

Thanks

Is it just because when you pull back the stick you're closing the carb too far? If so try raising your throttle trim a couple clicks until you get a reliable idle when landing.

What I have found to help is to set the idle after I land or with the fuel tank no more than half full. If there is any difference than when the tank is full you will know how much trim to use to compensate. In my experience there has not been very much if any difference. It's a simple fix if it works for you.

As said before, just set your throttle trim higher.

You could have it a tad lean causing a bit of overheating which can kill the engine in the way you mention.

Couple of clicks higher on the throttle trim.

What if you do this.... 30min later... it cools down.. your idle is so high your planes can't taxi (because you can't slow it down)? Then what's the problem? This is what happens to my Saito 91. When it's cold, it will run off and won't taxi safely (I will have to trim DOWN the idle), and when it warms up, it dies because it's idles too slow. Yet it flies great, hovers a 60 ultra stick at half throttle.

Sounds like possibly that the idle mixture is not quite right......
Try adjusting the idle trim a bit richer......1/8 turn at a time......

My $.02375 worth...... :}

Raise the level of the fuel tank.
Change to an Enya no.3 plug.
Enjoy the results.
